Green River Star - James Arthur Art Kalivas James Arthur Art Kalivas, 70, passed away Monday April 12, 2021 at Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He lived most of his life in Green River and spent several years snow birding to Mesquite, Nevada. He died following a courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer, surrounded by his family. God called him home as his work was complete, where he is now free from pain. He was born April 14, 1950 in Rock Springs, Wyoming; the son of John Kalivas and Irene Bekiarellis Kalivas. Art attended schools in Rock Springs and was a 1968 graduate of Green River High S.

James Arthur “Art” Kalivas, 70, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He lived most of his life in Green River and spent several years snowbirding to Mesquite, Nevada. He died following a courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer, surrounded by his family. James married Karen Larimore shortly after his high school graduation and they later divorced after sharing three sons.

Rolling Green Country Club Donates $1,300 Within Green River

GREEN RIVER Despite the lack of golf tournaments this past summer because of COVID-19, Rolling Green Country Club (RGCC) created a safe play program throughout the summer and fall and held two tournaments to raise funds for two community service organizations.  RGCC Board President Reed Clevenger and board member Steve Core presented a $304 check to Castle Rock Hospital District CEO Bailie Dockter, and a $1,000 check to the Sweetwater County Food Bank of Green River Director Kathy Siler. Clevenger would like to thank all the golfers who took part in the tournaments and donated to these great organizations. He said giving back to the community is part of the RGCC mission and this year has proven to be one where the community needs to help one another.
