Route 30 closed in Manheim Township after two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning

A partially rolled-over dump truck was the reason the road was closed, Manheim Township police said.Â The road was expected to be closed for a significant amount of time, police said, until heavy-duty tow trucks could get to the scene to remove the dump truck.Â Route 30 reopened at around 10:40 a.m., police said in a news release. The crash happened near The Shoppes at Belmont around 7 a.m., according to Lancaster County-Wide Communications.Â The driver of the dump truck, which was fully-loaded with stone, went to change lanes and struck a car, police said.Â Both drivers were trapped and had to be freed by first responders, according to police. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with injuries but are expected to survive.Â

A 31-year-old York County man died of injuries sustained in a crash Sunday night on Route 30 West in Lancaster County, according to East Hempfield Township Police. Albert Meier Acosta, of Windsor, was traveling west on the roadway near Rohrerstown Road at about 9:26 p.m. when his Mini Cooper struck a disabled Chrysler 300, which was parked along the shoulder of the highway, according to police. The impact caused the Chrysler to catch fire, police say. Acosta was transported to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a member of the Lancaster County Coroner s Office, according to police.

A York County man was killed after he struck a vehicle along Route 30 in East Hempfield Township on Sunday night, causing the vehicle to catch fire, according to East Hempfield Township police. Albert Meier Acosta, 31, of Windsor was traveling westbound along Route 30 near Rohrerstown Road at around 9:26 p.m. when he struck a disabled Chrysler 300 that was parked along the shoulder of the road, police said in a news release. The crash caused the Chrysler to catch fire. Meier Acosta was transported to Lancaster General Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. An investigation into the crash led by the Lancaster County Crash Investigation Team is ongoing, according to the news release. Westbound lanes of Route 30 were closed during the initial investigation, reopening at around 2:45 a.m. Monday.
