Fans of cyber flick Hackers can amuse themselves by visiting an exhibition of the characters’ costumes in London – but time is running short if you want to catch a glimpse of Angelina Jolie’s bizarre getups.
“Back in the future of 1995, the teen techno-thriller Hackers (directed by Iain Softley) burst onto cinema screens with its cyber phreak aesthetics, video game visuals and mind-bending techno soundtrack. For many, it was the vibrancy of the cartoon-like, surreal costumes that gave the film its unique identity, cult status and era-defining quality that still resonates today,” burbles the London exhibition’s description.

When Diana Albright and Jeremy Barnes drive to the rural town of Zenda for lunch, they know they are going to get good food.
Once a month, the two drive from Harper to eat at the Lumber Yard Steakhouse. Sometimes they choose a ribeye steak; other times they order an Angus steak. Every experience we ve had here has been exceptional, Barnes said. I know we re not going to get disappointed.
Last Friday, Barnes ate the specialty Muleshoe, chicken-fried steak with Texas toast, claiming it was a heart attack waiting to happen.
The Lumber Yard Steakhouse is housed in the Geo. W. Ultch Lumber Company, which was built on Zenda s Main Street in 1902.

Four finalists to be the next Escambia County Fire Rescue chief will take part in one-on-one meetings with county officials this week.
The four will meet individually with Escambia County Administrator Janice Gilley and the department directors in Public Safety.
“If there is a candidate that really stands out, hopefully it will be a March start date for that person,” county spokesperson Laura Coale said. She said Gilley will make the final decision on a new fire chief, and it will not require the approval of the Escambia County Commission.
Christopher Hatch is the only local candidate on the final four list.
