Las Pinas LGU to decide Monday on new curfew hours

Published March 14, 2021, 3:53 PM Las Pinas Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the city government will still convene to decide whether it will also implement the same curfew hours agreed by the Metro Manila Council (MMC). The city has started the implementation of the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m curfew hour on March 12 which was passed and immediately approved by the City Council. Aguilar said the City Council approved the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. so those leaving who will their houses early to go to work will no longer experience any problems of being checked by patrolling policemen. She said the city government will determine on Monday, March 15 if there is a need to follow the unified curfew hour from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. resolution of the MMC from March 15 to March 31.

Rodel Pastor to deploy more policemen in all establishments in the city after noticing that some were closing at 12 midnight and no longer observing the curfew hour. She added the city government noticed that some establishments were already relaxed and no longer observing health protocols such as the mandatory wearing of face mask and face shield, filling out contract tracing forms, and observing physical distancing inside their premises. The mayor said that not only establishments around the city will be checked by the police but also eateries, fast food chains, and sari-sari stores.

Senior surrenders after killing, wounding neighbors in Las Piñas

Las Piñas Police chief Col. Rodel Pastor said Francisco surrendered after he was tracked by the police while he was hiding with his relatives in Tagaytay City. Pastor said Francisco went into hiding after shooting to death Ricky Dimatulac, 50, and seriously wounding Dominic Duclayan, 38 – both neighbors of the suspect. Dimatulac was pronounced dead on arrival at the University of Perpetual Help Hospital while Duclayan is still under observation. After the shooting, Francisco immediately fled on board his Ford Everest vehicle. Francisco told the police that before the incident, he confronted Duclayan over the loud noise created by his motorcycle.
