ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) Normally catalytic converter thefts occur during warmer months, as it requires people to get down on the ground and slide under a car to make the steal, but over the last several weeks News10NBC has heard several reports of a new string of thefts across the region, including one at a private residence on Chili Avenue.
Matthew Nesci caught the whole thing on his Nest security camera on Chili Ave late Sunday night. In the footage, you can clearly see a car back into Nesci s driveway, open up both front doors, quickly work on Nesci s parked car, then drive away. The whole thing was over in about two minutes.
