Arraignments Monday in hit-and-run crash

Arraignments Monday in hit-and-run crash COSHOCTON, Ohio – Two defendants are scheduled for arraignment in connection to a car-motorcycle crash that seriously injured two people. Court records show 45-year-old Melannis Stevens from Newcomerstown and 39 year-old Jarome Starner of Coshocton will appear Monday in Common Pleas Court. Stevens faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident, vehicular assault and tampering with evidence. Starner faces one count of tampering with evidence. Authorities allege Stevens was driving a vehicle March 27 on State Route 751 when she went left of center, striking a motorcycle and left the scene of the accident. The two people on the motorcycle, 58-year-old Shawn O’Neill and 57-year-old Robin O’Neill from Waynesburg, suffered life-threatening injures and were transported to a Columbus hospital for treatment.

Fudge, muddle, clarity

Fudge, muddle, clarity James Marshall of Labour Party Marxists provides a rough guide to the issues and arguments that will dominate the January 30 Zoom conference Another Labour Left Alliance conference; another massively overloaded agenda. Over the course of four hours (plus half an hour for lunch) we are going to debate the crisis in the Labour Party and decide what to do next. Doable, if the conference had been organised with a view to achieving clarity. Unfortunately that is not the case. The methods of the labour and trade union bureaucracy have been thoroughly internalised. There is a mixed bag of eight motions - surely in a calculated attempt to dumb down, all limited to a maximum of 350 words, then nudged up to 400, by the LLA’s conference arrangements committee. This was strongly opposed by Labour Party Marxists. There is also the certainty of various amendments (with no word limit).
