A hearty congrats to Stage Left Theater for having its production of
Lonely Planet selected as one of 12 shows in the nation showcased at Virtual AACTFest 2021, the online gathering of the American Association of Community Theatre. The festival is celebrating local theaters that got creative in delivering shows during the pandemic.
Lonely Planet was actually Stage Left s last production to enjoy a live audience before the pandemic shutdown, but AACT will be sending a four-camera crew to Spokane to film a new, audience-free version that will stream at the festival June 16. Thomas Heppler directed the Stage Left show written by Steven Dietz and starring Robert Tombari and Lukas Lantz as two gay men living through the 1990s AIDS crisis. (DAN NAILEN)
Stage Left Theater's Masterpiece Monologues - Shakespeare Edition Another installment of Stage Left Theater’s Masterpiece Monologue series, featuring several locally well-known actors and directors and produced by Robert Tombari. This feature appears on Stage Left Theater’s Facebook page and is available to stream starting Friday, April 23 at 7 pm.
An Iliad Presented as part of Stage Left Theater s new series of one-person productions, Alone Together, made possible by a grant from Spokane Arts. The first production in the series is An Iliad, by Lisa Peterson and Dennis O Hare, is a modern-day retelling of Homer’s classic. Winner of the Lucille Lortel and Obie awards, Stage Left s first one-person production of 2021 is directed by Susan Hardie and stars Robert Tombari as The Poet. Streaming Jan. 29-Feb. 7; Thu-Sat at 7 pm, Sun at 2 pm.
