Synlait Milk s chief financial officer Angela Dixon has resigned, the company said.
Her resignation follows the sudden departure in mid-April of Synlait s chief executive Leon Clement. The company s co-founder and former chief executive John Penno is filling in as CEO until a replacement is found.

In a statement today, Penno said: On behalf of our team, I would like to thank Angela for her contribution and commitment to the organisation during a difficult period in Synlait s history.
Clement oversaw many changes at the company, including a major expansion phase and more recently a $200m capital raise to strengthen its books. In March, the company reported a “challenging” first half with a 76 per cent fall in net profit to $6.4 million, although revenue was up 19 per cent. It noted “significant uncertainty and volatility” included shipping delays and a sudden drop in demand for infant formula. Ongoing uncertainty over demand from one of its major clients, a2 Milk, was also expected to continue for the remainder of the 2021 and 2022 years. Shares in the company are currently at $3.11, having fallen 55 per cent in the past year.
I know there are people within the National Party who care about this. One told me yesterday he believed that the “defamation for hire” business being conducted wiped tens of millions of dollars off the value of corporate brands. We need to know what was done and how far it extended, and I don’t give a flying shit who is politically embarrassed in the course of finding out. That’s not the point.
We need our political leaders, of whatever stripe, to show some decency and find out. And we need, everyone, to shun these people and what they represent.
