Local restaurants prep for Super Bowl Sunday Cindy Peterson LEESBURG Super Bowl Sunday may look a little different this year for many local restaurants. With what is usually a packed-out house filled with screaming fans holding pints of their favorite beer, many restaurants are preparing for increased takeout orders while taking necessary sanitary precautions for the in-house guests.  In Leesburg, Cousin Vinnie’s is stocking up on wings for the big day. Takeout orders have already begun coming in as of Friday and hundreds are expected throughout the weekend.  “We’ve been here for 13 years and have the number one chicken wings in Lake County,” owner Vinnie Vittoria said. “We’ve ordered more this year because we expect a big turnout, not only in to-go orders but I think people are tired of staying in and want some place to go for the game.”

Roak Brewing in Royal Oak announces closing of taproom Feb. 1 By Jack Nissen ROYAL OAK, Mich. - A Royal Oak brewery has decided against reopening its doors, despite restrictions being lifted on bars and restaurants Monday. Roak Brewing Company, which has operated a taproom in the Oakland County city since 2015 announced online it wouldn t be reopening Feb. 1. However, the brewery would still be making beer that it had plans to sell out of its facility in Marshall. To all our loyal customers and fans, we have made the difficult decision that ROAK s taproom will not be reopening as of February 1st, read a Facebook post. It’s safe to say that 2020 has been an interesting year for most of us. Thankfully, we have made it through as many of our local organizations continue to get back on their feet.  In celebration of 2021, there are many events geared up to ringing in the new year right and help you in keeping your New Year’s resolutions. Here’s what’s on tap:  New Year’s Eve Celebration Ring in the new year in downtown Mount Dora on Thursday starting at 9 p.m. The event will feature live music, food, drinks and fireworks at midnight.  They ask that people wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
