i love this story. as we approach tomorrow s 75th anniversary of d-day, when more than 150,000 allied troops landed on the shores of nazi occupied france. we are looking at the women, the rosie the riveters, that went to work often in factories and shipyards while the men in their lives went off to combat. our own andrea mitchell had the chance to talk to some of these trail blazing women and hear their stories. reporter: rosie the riveter, the cultural icon of world war ii, a symbol of the millions of women who stepped in when the men stepped out, stepped in and learned how to build the weapons over seas. while the boys learned how to sing a new song.

largest agency in the u.s. government. but his reputation is severely damaged after being stellar. whether he goes on to defend himself in testimony or not, that is the damage for the rash decision. this is raj shah here explaining they thought he had been vetted is sufficiently, or trying to. did you do any vetting at all beyond saying he passed background checks from the fbi? for anybody in as sensitive a position as his i m saying did you there are obvious questions what he think back seat veters issues, how he will clean up the v.a., which are important to the position he is being considered for. there is a thorough background check where you interview previous bosses. you did that separate from the fbi background check. no the fbi does that and it
