The Environment Agency has a flood warning – which means flooding is expected and immediate action is required – in place for  Keswick Campsite. It states: “Levels on Derwentwater remain high at the Lodore Gauge as a result of heavy rainfall earlier this week. Further rainfall overnight is keeping the level of Derwentwater up above the flood warning level. “As a result, we do not expect levels to drop below the flood warning until Sunday. Flooding is expected to continue to affect low-lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and to the frontage of the Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site.

Upper River Eden There is currently a warning in place for Keswick Campsite. A spokesman for EA said: River levels are forecast to rise at the Stockdalewath and Cummersdale river gauges during early Saturday morning in response to persistent heavy rainfall expected overnight into Saturday. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected. Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Millhouse, Caldbeck, Sebergham, Ivegill, Stockdalewath, Dalston, Cummersdale, Denton Holme, Greystoke, Plumpton, Upperby and Harraby Green areas. High river levels are possible on the River Caldew, Cald Beck, River Ive, River Roe, North Petteril, River Petteril and their tributaries.

Flooding expected in Keswick following heavy rainfall

A flood warning and 13 flood alerts have been issued today for Cumbria.  A flood warning and 13 flood alerts have been issued today for Cumbria.  Flooding is expected in Keswick and river levels are high but steady at the Lodore river gauge on Derwent Water as a result ofheavy rainfall. Flooding is expected to affect low lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and the frontage of the Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site. Scattered rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours.  People are advised to avoid using low lying footpaths near rivers and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
