1 dead, 1 hospitalized after home explosion in River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Wis. One person has died after what police are calling an explosion and fire at a home in River Falls, Wisconsin Monday evening.
According to a press release from police, River Falls Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a fire in the 400 block of River Hills Road.
Upon arrival first responders learned two people were in the home at the time of the explosion, and that neighbors helped pull them out.

RIVER FALLS Two residents sustained undetermined injuries after their house exploded Monday night, Feb. 1, 2021, in the 400 block of River Hills Road.
Neighbors helped get the two residents to safety immediately following the explosion, according to a city of River Falls news release. One was transported to Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities and the other to River Falls Area Hospital.

KSTP has learned new information about the officers involved in the shooting last week that killed 23-year-old Dolal Idd. It happened outside a Holiday gas station at East 36th Street and Cedar Avenue in south Minneapolis.
According to a search warrant application, officers attempted to buy a handgun from Idd, using a confidential informant. They believed Idd was illegally selling guns. Officers said Idd fired at them first when they tried to move in and arrest him.
Three officers fired their weapons Sgt. Darcy Klund, Officer Jason Schmitt and Officer Paul Huynh. Their personnel records have now been released by the Minneapolis Police Department.
