On the May 10 primary ballot, there will be seven candidates vying for five Ripley City Council seats.
Each of these candidates was asked a series of questions.
At the March 15 Ripley City Council meeting, members approved the $2,561.269 budget for fiscal year 2022-2023. The coal severance is budgeted at $6,500.
In the March 9 Jackson County Commission meeting, Sheriff Ross Mellinger and 911 Director Montana Boggess asked for clarification of the process for finalizing and voting on the 2022-2023 budget.
Both Ravenswood and Ripley city councils, in their March 1 meetings, recognized some hard-earned achievements and heard updates on infrastructure projects that will affect their residents for many years.
