Virginia Rouse and Victor Yoak may not have met each other in their long lives, but they have much in common.
Both turned 100 years old in 2022. But that is the least of their similarities.
The Ripley City Council members and recorder unanimously made the adoption of the bond ordinance official at the Feb. 15 meeting.
“This a big step for the city,” said Mayor Carolyn Rader.
A centenarian who has been an active community member was honored at the meeting. A 16-year-old was recognized for earning a web design technology degree, a notable achievement for his age.
Potential candidates must file a certificate of announcement, along with the filing fee, with the city recorder or his designee. These certificates are available at city hall during normal operating hours.
Winners of the annual "WV Living" magazine s Best of West Virginia contest are chosen by online votes. Competitors included many well-known throughout the state, along with those more locally based.
