The statistics show 57 people died from fentanyl in San Francisco last year. That is one death a week and up from six depth not even a decade ago. Live coverage tonight from amber. She is at San Francisco general after speaking with the drug uses about the reasons and an er doctor about the danger. Reporter i spoke with a doctor who heads up the Er Department at the hospital. He tells me he is alarmed by the number of encinal overdoses he sees and wants to warn the public about how dangerous the drug is. Johnny lopez tells me he is homeless and uses heroin. He said his supplier turned him on some encinal two months ago. A lot of people are turning to fentanyl because of the strength. This is the fentanyl we get in the emergency department.
