BATON ROUGE, La. Florida State’s Curtis Williams recorded a personal best and his first-ever collegiate win in the long jump at the LSU Alumni Invitational in Baton Rouge on Saturday. Williams’ leap of 7.87 meters topped an outstanding field, and teammate Jaiden Rollins finished seventh in the event with a top jump of 7.26 meters.
It was an outstanding day all around for the Seminoles who saw several personal best recorded including a win by multiple All-American Jeremiah Davis in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 16.78 meters. In fact, the Noles had a very strong showing in the event with Kyvon Tatham taking sixth with a jump of 15.18 meters just ahead of Xavion Lockwood in seventh at 14.94 meters.
Amir Willis finished second in the men’s 200 meters with a time of 20.30 and Milton Ingraham also finished runner-up in the men’s discus at 58.32 meters.

The ACC released the 2023 All-ACC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Academic team on Tuesday and 15 Florida State student-athletes were named to the team which requires a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships and/or the NCAA Indoor Championships during the most recent season.
FSU’s top performers from the Academic Team include senior Faith Banks who broke the facility record in the women’s 400-meter with the third-best time (52.88) in FSU history in the prelims and Amani Heaven who was runner-up in the shot put with a throw of 16.54 meters.
Also posting a top-five finish at the ACC Championship and making the Academic Team was Alexandra Websters who was third in the 60-meter hurdle with a time of 8.26.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s annual FSU Relays kicked off Thursday at Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla. With the majority of the events set for Friday, the Seminole men’s and women’s teams will go into the final day in fine shape.
Senior Amani Heaven was FSU’s top finisher winning the women’s shot put with a throw of 16.84 meters. A second team All-America in the event at the 2022 NCAA Championships as a junior, Heaven finished second in the shot put at the ACC Indoor Championships last month. Her winning throw was a personal best.
A trio of Seminoles finished second in their Thursday events. Tallahassee native Curtis William’s 7.59 meter long jump was second best in the men’s field and junior Faith Banks was runner-up in the women’s 200 meters with a personal best time of 23.60. Riley Bahr was second in the 5,000 meters at 17:13.01.
Sophomore Riley Simmons, from Bradenton, Fla., was seventh in the women’s hammer throw with a best effort
Florida State sophomore Riley Simmons finished seventh in the women's hammer throw at the Auburn Classic in Auburn, Ala. on Friday.
Simmons posted a longest throw of 47.14 meters in her first outdoor competition of the season. The Bradenton, Fla., native is in her first year at FSU after transferring from Mississippi State where she redshirted last year.
The former FHSAA 4A state champion in the shot put and runner-up in the discuss finished 16th in the weight throw at the ACC Indoor Champions with a throw of 13.77 meters.
Simmons will compete in the shot put and discus Saturday at the Auburn Classic along with teammate Amani Heaven.
Milton Ingraham and Ahmari Avin will compete in the men's discuss on Saturday. seminoles.com
