Ohio counties get funding boost to improve transit access to vaccination sites “We don’t want transportation to be a barrier, and that’s the bottom line.” Funding for transit: Effort to get people to vaccination appointments By Brittany Harry | March 15, 2021 at 10:47 PM EDT - Updated March 16 at 5:36 PM COLUMBUS, Ohio (FOX19) - The Ohio Department of Transportation is allocating $7 million to help people get to their COVID-19 vaccination appointments. The money will be distributed among all 88 Ohio counties to help local transit agencies and health departments. “This program was really created because we were hearing there is a need from eligible Ohioans who were saying, ‘We are eligible, we want the vaccine, but we don’t have an automobile or any means of transportation to get us to one of the clinics,’” ODOT spokesperson Matt Bruning said.
