NEWARK, N.J., December 22, 2020 /CSRwire/ - In the spirit of service, celebration and charity, PSEG and the PSEG Foundation are donating $1.5 million to 14 organizations throughout the New Jersey and Long Island service territories that provide help to thousands of families and individuals who are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The nonprofit organizations receiving these surprise year-end contributions address needs that have been exacerbated by the pandemic, such as food insecurity, unemployment, mental and physical health, and poverty. Eleven Garden State organizations that provide help for families struggling because of the COVID-19 pandemic have been given a boost by North Jersey-based utility company PSEG and the PSEG Foundation.
The groups donated $1.5 million to the 11 New Jersey non-profits as well as three located in Long Island to help families and individuals with issues such as food insecurity, unemployment, mental and physical health, and poverty, according to a release from PSEG. The gifts also will provide support for ongoing issues such as domestic violence, substance abuse and child neglect.
