Oakridger
To the Editor:
I like the recent changes in The Oak Ridger. It seems the content is different, as well as the look and layout. I enjoyed reading the article about Tennessee troops working at the southern border, the article by state Rep. John Ragan on critical race theory, the clarification on the pool situation, and the long article on COVID vaccines in Tennessee.
I also want to express my appreciation to Councilman Rick Chinn for voting no to excessive spending on the pool. He is representing the conservative public’s desire to see city government control their spending. We all want the pool to stay open. When I reviewed the context of conversation in which Councilman Chinn has voted about pool spending, it appears he is not a proponent of closing the pool as some hype has tried to allege. He is a proponent of keeping the city’s spending inside the budget, and I greatly appreciate his representation.
