lorraine blanco joins us from the fire scene in red wood city, good morning, pam. reporter: he told me this fire seems to be a deliberate act and you can see in red wood city the street is still closed off while investigators try to find the exact cause. it started in the car port with up to five cars on fire at the same time. it spread to a nearby apartment building at 2:20 a.m. two dozen people are homeless this morning. the others have smoke and water damage and the whole building had to be evacuated. all 27 people got out safely and the fire quickly grew to three alarms. it is based on the amount of working that had to be done. the amount of fire, the fatigue factor is not a safety concern for us and then the amount of working we have to do is usually where the bulk of the job has to occur. the american red cross is helping all the residents with food and shelter and at a community center there were no surveillance camera but the deputy tells me it there were no i
