Burning southeast of the lake and west of the town of winters in both napa and yolo counties. Cal fire says 380 firefighters are working on it right now. Julie watts reports. Reporter good morning. Yeah, the evacuation area for this fire is growing. Currently hundreds of homes are threatened by these flames. You can see the road is closed behind us leading up to these areas. Firefighters facing unpredictable winds, difficult terrain and because of the drought, its also bone dry. Now, billowing smoke and crackling flames created an orange and black backdrop for tankers fighting the massive fire yesterday. Hundreds of firefighters continue to battle the rural fire. Helicopters scooped up water each bucket holding 324 gallons. Emergency responders fear the fire would move quickly, and it did, ballooning to thousands o acres in just a matter of hours. Its pretty comfortable in the lot of spots. 61 in oakland. About 65. 72 in concord. 66 in livermore and half moon bay. But you look at much of the southwest today. The highs, we were certain lae baking to our south and to our east. 107 in vegas. 108 in phoenix and this is the air mass thats going to migrate our way and were going to begin to feel its effects tomorrow afternoon and first a heat advisory in effect foraded in o hottest spots on thursday well see an excessive heat warning go into effect and on friday watch what happens, the heat warnings get expanded area wide. We have not seen a map this wide and this bright. You can see excessive heat youre looking at for some of the hottest spots getting as high as 110 degrees. This is likely the longest heat wave so far this year and its not just an inland
