Sussex County vaccine distribution going smoothly

How it works To book an appointment, residents can visit the county website at www.sussex.nj.us. The site also includes the vaccine consent form, which all patients must download, print and fill out before turning it in at their appointment. When visiting the fairgrounds to be vaccinated, residents are directed by Sussex County Sheriff s officers through the property along a route leading into the Richards Building. Prior to arriving at the building, they are stopped by volunteers at two checkpoints to ensure they have the necessary paperwork and to determine whether they have any relevant medical issues. Patients then drive through the Richards Building and receive their vaccination while remaining in their vehicle. After the dose, they are directed to one of two waiting areas a 30-minute area for anyone who has previously had adverse effects from vaccinations, and a 15-minute area for all others before they are allowed to leave.
