Goshen man drowns in snowmobile accident on frozen reservoir News 12 Staff Updated on:Feb 02, 2021, 5:41pm EST A Goshen man was killed in a snowmobile accident and another was found alive with hypothermia Monday evening. Police say they responded to a report of an accident at 5:43 p.m. near Reservoir Road at the Goshen Reservoir. Fire officials say two people tried to ride across Goshen Reservoir when the ice gave way and they fell in. Richard Stetson, 55, of Goshen, was rescued from the water and brought to the hospital. He is listed in stable condition. Goshen rescuers say 56-year-old Arne Jensen was found submerged in the frigid waters during the blizzard-like conditions.

Snowmobile through the ice: Orange County man dies, fellow rider survives Updated Feb 02, 2021; An Orange County man died in a snowmobile accident Monday after the sled he and another man were riding on broke through the ice on a local reservoir, according to State Police. At about 5:30 p.m, State Police Sgt. James Bodisch and Trooper Ryan Stutz responded to Reservoir Road in the Town of Goshen for a report of a snowmobile accident with injuries. When they arrived, they observed an individual in the woods. He was later identified as Richard Stetson, 55, of Goshen. Troopers assessed the situation and with the assistance of EMS personnel, provided first aid and placed Stetson on a backboard and transported him to a waiting ambulance.
