Licence to Kill (1989) Timothy Dalton: James Bond Revisited

Licence to Kill (1989) Timothy Dalton: James Bond Revisited April 1, 2021 by: The Timothy Dalton James Bond era came to an end with 1989 s LICENCE TO KILL, one of the most controversial James Bond movies ever made. A notable disappointment at the North American box office, many thought the film was too violent and owed too much to contemporary action films of the era, such as DIE HARD, LETHAL WEAPON and TV s MIAMI VICE. It would take six whole years for the next 007 outing to get made, but it would be without Dalton, who would leave the role in 1993, with his proposed final outing, THE PROPERTY OF A LADY, never getting made.

James Bond: Timothy Dalton s unmade 3rd 007 film: The Movie That Almost Was

James Bond: Timothy Dalton s unmade 3rd 007 film: The Movie That Almost Was March 10, 2021 by: In 1987, Timothy Dalton made his big-screen debut as James Bond in the well-received The Living Daylights. The film was a box-office hit, and critics and audiences alike praised his darker take on the character. In 1989, the second Dalton 007 outing, Licence to Kill was released, but this time, many thought they’d taken the character too far into the darkness with its grounded tale of drug lords and revenge. The film underperformed dramatically at the U.S box office. Nevertheless, a third Dalton outing was planned. Tentatively titled

A New Book Reveals James Bond s Vietnam War-Era Origin Story - Jacksonville Journal-Courier

A New Book Reveals James Bond s Vietnam War-Era Origin Story Tobias Carroll, provided by FacebookTwitterEmail If you’ve encountered any of James Bond’s adventures over the years, you’re already familiar with the basics: a license to kill, a car full of gadgets and a penchant for martinis. But let’s not forget some of the other elements of the James Bond mythos, like the Vietnam War-era origin story or the young relative getting into international misadventures of his own. Right about here, your mind is probably doing a perfect needle-scratch, and that’s understandable. James Bond’s origin story was never filmed, and the adventures of, er, James Bond, Jr., aired on a short-lived animated series. But they’re only the tip of the iceberg or, if you prefer, the villain’s base disguised as an iceberg when it comes to James Bond’s less famous adventures.

A View to a Kill (1985) - Roger Moore: James Bond Revisited

A View to a Kill (1985) - Roger Moore: James Bond Revisited March 7, 2021 by: Welcome back to another installment of James Bond Revisited. Sadly, our time with Roger Moore is coming to an end in this, his last go-round as 007, A VIEW TO A KILL. Much maligned by fans and critics (even if it developed something of a cult following in recent years), this 1985 release proved to be Moore s swan song in the role, with him being pretty open in his biography ( My Word is My Bond ) about how he felt he was now too old for the part.   The film, which was an attempt to recapture the magic of GOLDFINGER, albeit with microchips as opposed to gold, stars Christopher Walken as Max Zorin, a genetically engineered madman with ties to the KGB. Disco diva Grace Jones co-stars as his henchwoman May Day, while the late Tanya Roberts is Moore s leading lady, Stacy Sutton. The score, by John Barry, is top-shelf and features one of the best 007 theme songs, A View to a Kill by Duran Duran! Check out
