RCMP cadaver dogs began searching the area surrounding the ruins of the Northern Thunderbird (NT) Air hangar this weekend in hopes of finding some sign of Vernon Martin.
Martin, 55, was last seen at 1 p.m. on Dec. 19, shortly before a fire broke out at the hangar. Martin’s pickup truck was found in the parking lot outside the hangar building, which he co-owned.
UNBC forensic anthropologist Richard Lazenby led a team which combed the debris for two weeks but found no sign of human remains. The forensic search of the site was delayed until March, when the site unfroze long enough for Lazenby and his team to start work.
