During a work session this evening, board chair chris tuck presented information about Erica Williams attendance and past evaluations of her former employees. There have been a lot of questions surrounding her decision to not rehire 4 people after she was reelected. Since then there have been a lit of back and forth between county leaders. Tonight, they voted to eliminate her supplemental pay from the county. That money would have been in addition to the roughly 120,000 she recieves from the state. Some residents spoke in support of williams saying the county do. But county leaders decided to move forward with eliminate williams supplemental pay. The cost is far from being cost effective. Using the pagoda as central Subway Corporation yard if you will, raise the building, put a shaft down, is fraught with instruction problems due to the water flow problem in the basement pointed out by letter from sav e muni. There are lower cost alternatives. Unless this information we dont know about leave the tunnelboring machines buried, under the pagoda theatre or extract them from the chinatown station. Extracting them or burying them at chinatown would save 80 million dollars. By doing that it would not impact the people, residents, businesses of north beach. When you consider the use of this building for an extraction site it should be denied. I think it is an expensive project. It is disruptive. There are a lot better alternatives. He wanted to cap the maximum for residential and commercial buildings, and requiring signage for the spaces. He wanted to ensure that these spaces will be allowed for projects not seeking a cu.
