The Third Annual Coastal Bend Field of Honor ceremony has been canceled due to weather conditions. However, the flag placement will occur around Nov. 16 or 17.
Due to Wednesday night's rain and rain expected on Friday, the Field of Honor Deactivation and Flag pick-up will now take place on Wednesday, December 6 for the field to dry out.

Lorelei Saliani, a cancer patient from Ingleside with older parents, says it was very important for her to get the vaccine even though she had to deal with the confusion of a mega vaccination event.
âIf Iâm going to die from this cancer, I donât want to die not being able to see my parents, said Saliani. I donât want to kill my parents by seeing them. I can t safely go grocery shopping, I donât leave the house. I canât see my children or my five grandchildren.â
Nueces County reports 310 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths on Jan. 14
There have been 32,364 total coronavirus cases reported in Nueces County, with 3,141 active cases.
Nine of the new cases were reported by the state. The state has reported 5,232 of the county s total cases.
Of the new cases, 81 were confirmed, 209 were probable and 20 were suspected positives. There have been 22,895 confirmed, 8,455 probable and 1,014 suspected cases total.
Nueces County reported three men and two women in their 70s and 80s died from the virus on Thursday. They had diabetes, heart disease and hypertension. There have been 600 COVID-19-related deaths in Nueces County since March.
There were 184 patients in the hospital on Thursday, with 51 in the ICU. There have been 4,870 hospitalizations total and 28,623 recoveries.
