Former California priest arrested in RI on sex-assault charges The Providence Journal A former Roman Catholic priest working as a psychologist in Rhode Island was arrested Wednesday on a warrant that accuses him of sexually abusing children in California, authorities said.  Christopher Cunningham was captured by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force at a house in Newport, according to a news release.  Meanwhile, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced that Cunningham had been charged with sexually assaulting four boys at two different parishes dating back more than two decades.  He faces 12 felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14, according to Gascon’s office.

Fugitive on Top 10 Most Wanted in SW Florida is arrested, held in RI

The Providence Journal A fugitive from justice who has been on the run for more than a week and was on the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers’ Top 10 Most Wanted list, was arrested in Warwick on Thursday and is being held without bail. Kyndall Hutchins, 33,  was expected in court in Florida on Feb. 17 to answer charges that he sexually assaulted an underage coworker after following her to her car. He was arrested in August 2020 and released two days later. After he missed his court date in Lee County, Florida, an arrest warrant was issued. An email from the U.S. Marshals Service said investigators from the Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force learned that Hutchins was heading for Providence. The Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, comprising U.S. Marshals, the Rhode Island State Police, and officers on loan from Warwick, Cranston, Middletown, Pawtucket, Portsmouth and Providence police departments was notified, and early Thursday morning, Hutchins was arrested, po

(Lee County Sheriff s Office Booking Photo) WARWICK, RI A top-ten fugitive and registered sex offender from Lee County, Florida who was wanted on charges of raping a minor was arrested Thursday morning at the Extended Stay America hotel in Pawtucket by members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force. Kyndall Tyree Hutchins, 33, was tracked down after a week on the run, and was arrested without incident at around 8:30 a.m., according to Rhode Island State Police Capt. John Allen. Hutchins was arraigned as a fugitive at Sixth District Court in Providence, is now being held at ACI Cranston, and has waived extradition to the Sunshine State.
