Apr 19, 2021 Police are investigating another carjacking in Rochester. It happened Saturday night around 10:30 Investigators say a 49-year-old woman was stopped at the intersection of Clifton and Reynolds Streets when two suspects, one armed with a gun, ordered the woman out of her car. Investigators say the suspects took off in the woman s car and no arrests have been made. The victim was not injured. RPD: Woman carjacked near Clifton Street Saturday night

(WHEC)  Rochester Police are investigating a carjacking that occurred late Saturday night in the city.  Police responded around 10:30 p.m. to the area of Clifton Street for the report of a vehicle taken at gunpoint.  Investigators say a 49-year-old woman was stopped at the intersection of Clifton and Reynolds Streets when two suspects, one armed with a gun, ordered the woman out of her car.  The suspects took off in the woman s car and no arrests have been made.  Police say the victim was not injured and the investigation is ongoing.  There has been no word on if this recent carjacking is related to the deadly carjacking in Gates. 

Savannah man encourages black home ownership amid SCAD, city development

This part of an occasional Savannah Morning News series featuring people making a difference in our community. On the block of 38th and Reynolds Streets sits a home with a huge POD box outside and building materials on the porch. Inside, workers are taping covers down over the newly installed wooden floors on an exceptionally warm day in December.  Lionel Brown, born and raised on the Eastside of Savannah, walks through his childhood home as it goes through renovation. He recalls the room he and his brothers shared and how he is changing the reddish-colored paint on the walls to grey with white trim. He recently purchased the home from his mother, Valerie Ragland, in November.
