A SPECIALIST Swindon company is part of a cutting-edge £1.2 million project to create a new material out of recycled plastic. Recycling Technologies has teamed up with the University of Birmingham, the University of Surrey, and Cranfield University to work on the research which aims to speed up a solution to combat climate change. Innovate UK s Smart open grant funding programme has just given them a lot of financial backing to get the studies started. The research project aims to develop and enhance the RT7000, a machine manufactured by Recycling Technologies which converts waste plastics into a recycled material called Plaxx which can be used to manufacture new plastic.
