Kushina, who left the department after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 65, also was singled out for unflattering remarks as an older officer, the lawsuit says.
At an opening ceremony for a school security vestibule in June 2019, Police Chief William “Bud” Monaghan made a comment to (Kushina) about his age and whether (Kushina) could lift his leg high enough to clear the ribbon, the lawsuit alleges.
It also asserts Cherry Hill Councilwoman Sangeeta Doshi approached Kushina at a holiday breakfast for township employees in December 2019 and said, “’Let me come over and say ‘hi’ to the old guys,’ or words to that effect.”
