COHOES, N.Y. â Neighborhood families were in for a surprise on Saturday morning when a parade of fire trucks and police cars wound through the city escorting the Easter Bunny.
The parade launched from the fire station on Van Schaick Island and followed a slow path through the downtown area of Cohoes. Riding along with the Easter Bunny was mayor William Keeler, who greeted people and helped to pass out Easter candy.
The parade cars had their lights flashing and sirens on to let people know they were coming. Some knew about the parade, as it was advertised on the city s Facebook page. Children waited on street corners and in front of their houses with Easter baskets as they listened for the approaching parade. Some people were pleasantly surprised.
