(Credit: Reporter File Photo) John Alexander Garbowski, Jr., age 38, son of John Sr. and Virginia Clark Garbowski, passed away October 22, 2020. A funeral service will be held at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home, 91 Hampton Street, Sag Harbor, N.Y. on Saturday, May 22 at noon. John Jr. is remembered for his fearless approach to paraplegia and his absolute refusal to be disabled. The family requests that contributions in his memory be made to the Southampton Animal Shelter, 102 Old Riverhead Road, Hampton Bays, NY 11946.

(Credit: Reporter File Photo) Kolina May Reiter passed away gently on April 27, 2021 in the company of family and loved ones. She was 82. Born Kolina May Nevel on May 22, 1938 to May and John Barice Nevel on Shelter Island, she was a true “harelegger.” Her life on Shelter island is irreplaceable, her family said. Kolina’s mother’s and father’s families were from Cornwall, Canada and immigrated to Long Island in the early 1900s, and followed May’s sisters, Jessie Price and Margaret Oliver, to Shelter Island, where they raised their family of Kolina and her brothers, Malvin (Mal) and Barice.

Warren Carl Dickerson passed away on April 21, 2021, at the age of 79. He was born on February 5, 1942, to Warren Beebe Dickerson and Matilda Wukits in Port Jefferson. Warren received his BS in Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. and later obtained his MBA at Auburn University. Warren was united in holy matrimony with Mina Lungen on June 6, 1965 in Port Jefferson. Their union was blessed with three children. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, serving in Thailand from 1970-71 during the Vietnam War, in addition to tours of duty all over the world. Warren was employed by the United States Air Force as a Civil Engineer for 24 years. After retirement, Warren continued his career as a civilian for another 10 years.

John A. Loconsolo Members of the Loconsolo family wish to say they are heartbroken that John A. Loconsolo passed away on April 1, 2021. He was an amazing father and businessman, they remembered, who was blessed with 101 years of life. He was born to Jack and Victoria Loconsolo in Brooklyn. His father always said he wanted his son to be born in “the greatest city on earth.” John partnered with his father early on, starting their own contracting firm, painting churches and schools for the Diocese of Brooklyn. Other ventures of note include the first repaint of the Verrazano Bridge and the World Trade Center. His projects grew in number and spanned the east coast to Florida and west to Las Vegas and California. He was President of LoCon Realty Corp., Loconsolo Properties and Jack Loconsolo & Company.
