LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) announced on Tuesday that they had received $12.5 million in Federal Grant Allocations through the Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program (ACRGP).
The 72 Nebraska airports across the state will be receiving $12,528,712 in grant allocation from the ACRGP.
“These funds will provide economic relief to Nebraska airports affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The FAA will make grants to all airports that are part of the national airport system, including all commercial service airports, all reliever airports, and some public-owned general aviation airports,” the news release said.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando International Airport has been allocated $41.6 million in federal coronavirus relief dollars, according to a news release.
The announcement follows the Federal Aviation Administration’s release of a breakdown of a new financial assistance package for U.S. airports.
U.S. Department of Transportation officials said the money is part of $2 billion in grants allocated under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriation Act, which aims to provide financial assistance to the nation’s airports that have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

The FAA has established the new Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program to distribute $2 billion in funds designated to provide economic relief for airports impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. According to the agency, grants will be offered to eligible U.S. airports to “prevent, prepare for, and respond to” COVID-19. The funds are part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriation Act (CRRSAA) (PDF), which was signed into law on Sunday.
