Curfew violator dies after being made to do 300 pumps, cops deny punishment Published April 6, 2021 1:26am A quarantine violator in General Trias in Cavite died on Saturday after allegedly being forced to do around 300 rounds of a pumping exercise. According to Reichelyn Balce, live-in partner of the victim Darren Peñaredondo, the latter was arrested by village watchmen for violating the curfew on April 1. Balce said Peñaredondo only went out to buy mineral water but was arrested and brought to the General Trias Police Station. She said those arrested were ordered to do pumping exercises 100 times. However, the violators were not in sync and had to repeat the exercise until they were able to do almost 300 rounds.

Police have punished more than 10,000 people for breaching a 6pm to 5am curfew imposed on Metro Manila and four provinces bordering the national capital region last week to curb soaring infections.
