The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that state governments cannot withdraw criminal cases against sitting MPs and MLAs without prior sanctions from the respective high courts.
A bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana also said that it was mulling setting up a special bench at the apex court to monitor the cases against politicians.
