SC: Delhi High Court Chief Justice will do needful on physical hearings

New Delhi, Jan 20 : On the issue of resuming physical hearings in the Delhi High Court, the Supreme Court on Wednesday said it trusts the chief justice of the High Court and he will do whatever is required.
A bench headed by Chief Justice S. A. Bobde and comprising Justices A. S Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian said they also want to resume physical hearings, but it is necessary to ask health authorities before taking a decision. We are not going to take the opinion of advocates on health things , said the Chief Justice.

The apex court also said that it understands the gravity of the problem but would like the petitioners to first approach the Delhi High Court.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that it would hear tomorrow, a plea of lawyers challenging a recent circular issued by Delhi High Court allowing physical hearing in some of its courts and on alternate days of the week in trial courts in view of the decline in the intensity of spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the national capital .

New Delhi [India], January 15 (ANI): Delhi High Court on Thursday said all district courts of the national capital will hold hearing physically on an alternate day basis and continue to take up the matters through video conferencing on non-physical days from January 18.
In an official statement, the court said that 11 benches of Delhi High Court will hold physical court while the rest will take matter via video-conferencing in view of the decline in the intensity of spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the national capital.
