Police assure Tamale residents of their safety
The Northern Regional Police Command has put in place measures to increase the number of security personnel on the streets and suburbs of Tamale, especially in the nights.

on Thursday, December 10, after former President John Mahama s address to the public on the outcome of Monday s elections, some supporters of the National Democratic Congress massed up on the streets of Tamale and burnt tyres to protest the results of the Presidential polls.
Tamale NDC supporters engaged police in a gun battle - Northern Regional Crime Officer

The Northern Regional Crime Officer Supt, Bernard Baba Ananga has disclosed to GhanaWeb that, some people believed to be sympathizers of the NDC who were found burning tires on the streets of Tamale last night, engaged the police in a gun battle when the police went to clear them off from the streets.
Speaking to GhanaWeb, Supt. Bernard narrated that, the incident happened after the former president John Dramani Mahama finished addressing the media around 9:40, some people took to the streets of Tamale and started burning tires at intersections.
