Reporter they had a public unveiling and a News Conference where they talked about the new earthquake Early Warning system via that my shake app. The media still here, about to leave the pier where we are. The app called, my shake, is free to download and was developed by uc berkeleys seismologists and also from around the west coast. University of washington and oregon as well. It will not be able to predict . But the app can alert users to take cover and prepare seconds before shaking, the shaking of a major quake reaches them. The system uses sensors buried in the ground across the state and it detects the start of earthquake, calculates the location and intensity and send a warning to your phone if youre in an area where shaking is likely to happen.
