Suzzanne Douglas : Actress from ‘The Parent ‘Hood’, Dies at 64 By Betti Halsell, Contributing Writer Published July 7, 2021 According to Deadline and several different sources, it has been confirmed Suzzane Douglas, from Robert Townsends 90’s sitcom, “The Parent Hood,” has passed away at the age of 64. Douglas’ death was announced on Facebook, by her cousin Angie Tee. The NAACP Image Award-winning actress was best known for her role as the family matriarch, ‘Jerri Peterson’ on ‘The Parent ‘Hood’ (1995–1999). She was acknowledged for her role as ‘Amy Simms’ in the 1989 film, “Tap” a dance/drama project. ADVERTISEMENT Within the announcement, Douglas’ cousin wrote “Suzzanne Douglas a beautiful and talented actress made her transition today,” She continued,  “She warmed our hearts on movie screens and television sets all over the world…The world will miss your talent but your soul will live on forever.”
