London, Apr 7 (efe-epa).- Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold and midfielder Naby Keita have been racially abused on social media.
The Guinean midfielder and the Englishman were targeted with monkey emojis on Instagram in the wake of the team’s defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
“As a club, we will offer our players any and all support that they may require. We will also work with the relevant authorities to identify and, if possible, prosecute those responsible,” the club said in a statement.
“LFC condemns all forms of discrimination and we continue to work with our inclusion partners through our Red Together initiative to campaign against it.”
