LFC sponsors Northern Power Women Awards Liverpool FC was a proud sponsor of one of the largest awards celebrations of gender equality in Europe on Monday night, as the Northern Power Women Awards took place on International Women s Day.
The club has been a long-standing supporter of Northern Power Women, a collaborative movement to accelerate gender diversity which was founded by Simone Roche MBE in 2015.
Northern Power Women aims to spotlight, accelerate and encourage a more inclusive and representative society, and the annual awards recognise, showcase and celebrate role models across all genders, sectors, ethnicities, abilities and regions.
This year’s ceremony took place virtually and saw a record-breaking 1,480 nominations, and had more than 900 people in attendance, making it the largest awards celebration of gender equality in the whole of Europe, with more than six million Twitter impressions and counting.

The club has worked with five local female-led businesses to create the Get Involved and Pay it Forward initiative, which has seen the club donate £500 to each business in order to cover the cost of their product or service for women in the community who may not be in a position to cover it themselves.
To generate further awareness for the small businesses, club staff have been set a #ChoosetoChallenge task they must complete for each of the small businesses, which include: Homebaked Bakery in Anfield; Belly by Rachael – a service which provides virtual support services for isolated new mums; the Liverpool Weaving Company – Liverpool’s first an
LFC marks Holocaust Memorial Day Liverpool Football Club will mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 this week with a range of activities taking place across the club.
Holocaust Memorial Day, which takes place on Wednesday January 27, is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi extermination camp, and remembers the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, alongside millions of other people killed under Nazi persecution and in genocide around the world.
The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 is ‘be the light in the darkness’, which encourages reflection on the ways individuals and communities resisted the darkness to ‘be the light’ before, during and after genocide.
