One injured in Thursday crash involving South Eastern bus

A person was injured Thursday morning in a crash involving a South Eastern School District bus in Hopewell Township, according to York County 911.
Firefighters responded about 7:10 a.m. to the 300 block of Marsteller Road, where a driver was heavily trapped under the bus, according to a Eureka Volunteer Fire Department news release on Facebook.
A Mazda had crashed and wedged itself into the back of the bus, trapping the driver, according to the release.
Firefighters winched the car out from underneath the bus before the driver was extracted and taken to the hospital, according to authorities.
The patient, who was in the care of EMS within 11 minutes, was taken to a local trauma center, the fire company reported.
Pennsylvania State Police, in conjunction with Red Lion Bus, Inc., will further investigate the crash, the school district said in a news release. The safety of our students is our number one priority and we are thankful to Eureka Fire Company and our local EMS services for responding so quickly, the district said.
State police could not be reached for comment.
The bus was carrying 17 elementary and middle school students at the time of the crash on May 11.

One student was injured Tuesday morning in a rollover crash involving a South Eastern School District bus, according to officials.
The crash happened about 8:05 a.m. Tuesday at Kilgore and Draco roads in Hopewell Township, according to the York County 911 Center. Parent Barb Kerr said the bus was driving students to South Eastern Intermediate and Fawn Area Elementary. The bus overturned. They were all self-extracted prior to our arrival, Eureka Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Mike Forstoffer said. He said it s unclear what caused the bus to roll over.
