The only fire in the bay area today. Within the past 10 minutes we learned that crews contained this grass fire. This one near concord. You can see its near i580 here. Right now thats next to highway 4. Now the fire burned about 40 acres there. Did slow down traffic in the area. You can see planes dropped a lot of fire retardants to help slow the spread and crews will be on that scene for hours cleaning up. Now as talked about before this could be a sign of a very, very busy fire season. Tracking the conditions. Its hard to see that. Weekend and temperatures beginning to slowly warm up yesterday and continuing away from the coast. Not much change on the coast, 40s, 50s and 60s, and cool at the coast, 51 at morgan hill, 55 at campbell, and statewide it looks quiet other than the fog, translating into the 60s and 70s by the water, 80s and low 90s inland. 6 01 am. We have a problem with caltrain, it hit a vehicle, and abandoned pickup truck on the tracks at the broadwayberlin game crossing, and no one was in the truck, and apparently the truck was disabled and the person got out and the train was unable to stop in time, and no one was injured. Caltrain says there are delays, and they are setting up a bus ridge, at least a 90 minute delay for the caltrain riders this morning due to the collision between the train and the pickup truck on the tracks.
