More than $1 million allocated in 2020-21 and 2021-22 through the Every Club grant scheme
27 Local governments and State Sporting Associations share in funding to improve the governance, planning and management practices of community sporting clubs
The McGowan Government has committed more than $1 million of funding to 27 projects supporting club development across the State.
Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray announced the recipients of the Every Club grant scheme today in the Kimberley, where two Shires are set to receive funding through the scheme.
The Shire of Broome will receive $60,000 support towards the Club Development Officer role, assisting the 45 sporting clubs in Broome with capacity building and sustainability, particularly around governance and financial management.

Perth’s newest tourist attraction features a two-hour experience, which is anticipated to operate 364 days a year, including all event days, delivering the ultimate fan experience and showcasing the Stadium in a manner never seen before.

New technology revolutionising the way we watch sport and live performances within stadiums
Sports and entertainment fans at Optus Stadium will soon have the added excitement of connecting many times faster with fellow fans through the Optus 5G network while watching their favourite sport or live performance.
VenuesWest, on behalf of the State Government, together with Optus and VenuesLive, today announced that ultra-fast 5G connectivity had been switched on throughout key areas of Optus Stadium, including the pitch, corporate suites and seating areas.
Visitors to Optus Stadium who have a 5G handset on the Optus network will immediately benefit from the new technology with faster download speeds and a more reliable video and app streaming experience – even when 60,000 people are uploading images and streaming video of the event to social media.

Event draws competitors from across the country into Perth
Entries open today for the Australian Masters Games, which is being held in Perth this October.
Supported by the State Government, through Tourism WA and VenuesWest, it is the first time Western Australia has hosted the premier sporting event since 1993.
The Australian Masters Games, for people aged over 30, features around 50 sports including: athletics, cricket, basketball, netball, figure skating and wrestling.
While sport is the main attraction, the event is also known for its social activities, with a program of entertainment throughout the week to give competitors and guests a taste of Perth and the surrounding regions.
$1.58 million redevelopment set for Mount Barker Memorial Swimming Pool facilities
Fifty-year-old facility to receive new change rooms, toilets, kiosk and clubrooms
Construction set to commence in March 2021
The historic Mount Barker Memorial Swimming Pool is set to receive a major refurbishment made possible by an investment of more than $374,000 by the McGowan Government.
Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray today visited the facility, which is set to receive a grant through the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF).
Built in 1971, the facility includes a six-lane, 50-metre swimming pool with an additional children’s pool and basic change rooms, kiosk and toilets, and is home to the Mount Barker swimming club.
