A former Hamilton Junior High School board of trustees chairman, Kieran Martin-McManus, has been jailed for two years and nine months.
A former school board of trustees chairman has been sent to jail after falsely accusing a teacher of having sex with a student. The lie, dubbed “evil” by one of its victims, all but destroyed the teacher’s career until she was fully cleared in court two years later. Kieran Martin-McManus, 33, was jailed for two years and nine months when he appeared in the Hamilton District Court on Thursday, after earlier being found guilty by a jury of wilfully attempting to pervert the course of justice and two charges of forging documents.
SEVEN high-flying students have received offers to study medicine at university.
Ulverston Victoria High School is delighted after seven of its Year 13 students who have applied to study medicine at university next year have received offers. The students include: Lauren Tucker who has received an offer from Homerton college, Cambridge University, Reece Travis who received an offer from Kings College, London University, Merryn Stangroom who received offers from both Newcastle and Glasgow Universities, Tobias Sainty who received an offer from Birmingham University, Freya Pearce who received an offer from Queens Belfast University, Chinjung Srirattanwong who received an offer from Newcastle University and Sophie Ward who received an offer from Leicester University.
