School board chairman jailed after 'evil' classroom sex lie backfires

A former Hamilton Junior High School board of trustees chairman, Kieran Martin-McManus, has been jailed for two years and nine months.
A former school board of trustees chairman has been sent to jail after falsely accusing a teacher of having sex with a student.
The lie, dubbed “evil” by one of its victims, all but destroyed the teacher’s career until she was fully cleared in court two years later.
Kieran Martin-McManus, 33, was jailed for two years and nine months when he appeared in the Hamilton District Court on Thursday, after earlier being found guilty by a jury of wilfully attempting to pervert the course of justice and two charges of forging documents.
