Courtemanche wraps up 2020 with 90-plus mile awareness run
FAIRFIELD He did it.
Raymond Courtemanche wrapped up his seven half-marathons Thursday, run over seven days in seven cities.
He began Christmas in Rio Vista. A map, and a little math, added another 1.5 miles to his course that day.
The rain came down Monday in Dixon and he ran in rain-soaked wear.
His GPS didn’t work for about a mile Wednesday in Suisun City, so he ran the extra mile.
He logged more than 90 miles over the span, the majority on one pair of running shoes.
As the new year begins, Courtemanche will get some extra sleep as the new year begins.
Fairfield welcomes 2 new council members, 2 returnees
Both had sought council seats in prior elections.
The Nov. 3 election was the first done by district. Panduro will represent District 5 and serve a two-year term. Tonnesen will speak for District 2 for the next four years.
Rick Vaccaro and Vice Mayor Pam Bertani were re-elected to the council but for the first time representing a district rather than the entire city. Vaccaro represents District 4. Bertani ran unopposed and represents District 6.
