In the words of one colorado resident, the flooding thats hit his state is like something out of the bible. At least three people have been killed by powerful flash floods thats cut off several towns, washed out roads and swept away homes. The torrential rain continued overnight. Late last night thousands of residents in western boulder were told to evacuate. Flood watches are posted in colorado, new mexico and western nebraska. It poured up to 8 inches of rain from the wyoming border to the denver foot hills yesterday. Last night president obama approved federal Disaster Relief for several colorado counties. Adriana diaz reports from the flood zone. Reporter 4,000 residents living along Boulder Creek have been ordered to evacuate. Suicide bomb attacks by taliban militants set off a deadly gun battle outside the u. S. Consulate. Militants detonated a powerful truck bomb outside the front gates overnight then one of the attackers set off a vest bomb. At least two Afghan Soldiers and 7 attackers were killed. No americans were hurt. This morning syria says it has signed the treaty banning chemical weapons and it is ready to hand over information about its program. Still, the secretary of state john kerry says thats not good enough. And syria needs to hand over its weapons not just the information. Kerry is meeting with the russian counterpart in geneva again today. And rescues are happening right now in colorado where thousands of people were ordered out of their homes. About what several firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and smoke inhalation agreed no word yet on what caused the fire but reports have come and that it may have been accosted from a frozen custard shot. Within 50 minutes it was more flams that ive ever seen in my life. The fire has gained National Attention after Hurricane Sandy cost billions of dollars just to rebuild the boardwalk. Colorado is inundated by the worst flooding in generations and we have just learned that at least four people have been killed and several towns are surrounded by water. This is whats left of highway 7 outside lyons, a raging river tore the road apart. Colorados Governor John Hickenlooper warned people to stay away from the water. He said the dirt and sand have turned it into what he calls liquid cement. In boulder, will pitner was rescued by emergency workers and a neighbor after his home filled with water. Barry petersen tells us there are scenes like that all over. Reporter it is a race to rescue the stranded before the next storm hits. This man made it to safety via a zip line amid cheers from relieved spectators. The National Guard sent helicopters to pluck these people from jamestown, one of several small mountain towns cut off by the floods. Par
