KOLKATA: BJP leader Firoze Kamal Gazi alias Babu Master was attacked while he was on his way to Kolkata on Saturday.
According to police, Gazi received splinter injuries when miscreants attacked his car in West Bengal s North 24 Parganas district. Gazi was on his way to Kolkata when miscreants attacked his car with crude bombs on Basanti Highway.
According to reports, at least 15 miscreants attacked Babu Master s SUV near Lauhati bridge, barely 200 metres away from Lauhati police outpost, when the leader was returning to Kolkata from Basirhat. The miscreants hurled few crude bombs and fired several rounds of bullets at the vehicle, reports said.

Howrah (West Bengal) [India], January 7 (ANI): Days after resigning from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee s cabinet, Trinamool Congress MLA Laxmi Ratan Shukla on Thursday ruled out the possibility of joining any other party stating that he is taking a break from politics and will focus on sports. I have done politics as honestly as I have played cricket. My identity as a cricketer is the most fundamental. For now, I will focus on sports. I will complete my term as MLA.Since I m going to take a break from politics, the question of joining a party doesn t arise, Shukla said in a press conference here.

New Delhi: Former cricketer and ex-West Bengal Minister of State (MoS) for Sports and Youth Affairs Laxmi Ratan Shukla who resigned from the Mamata Banerjee-led state cabinet and left the TMC said he is taking a break from politics.
